Women in Art

A video I found, and found to be lovely. This is beautifully done, and you are sure to find some paintings you will recognize.

Gift for My Daughter's 7th Birthday

One of my daughters recently turned 7, and had seen an ad in the Walmart flyer for a notebook that she really wanted. Um, it was $2.50 for a little 70 sheet notebook, and well, I would have gotten it, but it turns out they were all out when we had the money for it anyway. Soooo, I had kept the sales flyer, and decided to draw it for her instead. The picture on the flyer was really tiny, but this is how it turned out:

I took the drawing I had made & glued it to a plain notebook and taped around the edges with clear, packaging tape:

Inside front cover of the notebook:

To make it even more special, I cut out & glued on pretty pictures I thought my daughter would like, on the inside & back covers of her notebook:

She said it was even more special because I had made it, which was what I was hoping for!

A New Portrait, Completed

I finished this drawing in April, just about a week before I gave birth to our sixth child! I wanted to finish it for a gift for my sister in law's and nieces' birthdays, but I wasn't able to finish it in time. I just recently sent it in the mail to them (they don't know it's coming), and I hope they like it!

This is a close-up photo, but it came out a little blurry...

Portrait in Progress

One of my friends asked me to do 4 portraits of her 4 children & sadly, she has been waiting WAY too long for them! This past year has been a hectic one for me, with lots of changes & stresses in our family (but thankfully, God has worked it all out & things are much better now). I am also a perfectionist when it comes to my artwork, so I find it hard to sit down & draw when I am not in the right "mood" ~it can seriously affect the outcome of what I put on paper. But I wanted to post the progress I have made. It shouldn't be much longer for this one I don't think!

Also, can you tell me if you can see the picture okay? Gray lines are barely showing up on our computer & I think the video card or something is dying~but I want to make sure it's just me!

Where to Buy a Print or Card of the Albino Burmese Python

Did you know you can purchase a print of my painting of the albino burmese python? You can! You can also purchase it in greeting card form.

Older Artwork

Here is some of my artwork from several (10 or more!) years ago.

Photobucket

This is a painting a made in high school with acrylics. I painted it for someone who really liked snakes & it took me 2-3 months to finish! It is for sale now at my Etsy shop, which you can see in the banner on my sidebar.

I also draw cartoons when I am in the mood. Animals are probably my favorite, but I also do people.

Photobucket

I also drew a lot of things on scrap paper like this, and I've given many drawings away, so I have no pictures to show of them!

Photobucket

This is a close-up of a another painting from high school done in acrylics--actually my first real attempt at painting in acrylics! I first made a collage from different pictures and then I painted it.

Here is the full painting. This painting was for sale but is no longer because I sold it.

This is the cover of a menu I made for my German class in high school. It is done in colored pencils (Prismacolors---my favorite!)
